NOVEMBER 2025 COP30
JANUAERY 2026
Serra Gaúcha Regional
Development Tenders

November 10 to 20 2025 The UN Conference of the Parties on climate change, COP30, was held in Belém (PA) Brazil, became the stage for one of the most urgent discussions of our time: the energy transition for sustainable development. The events endeavor to consolidate a global roadmap to gradually abandon fossil fuels and migrate to clean sources such as solar, wind, and biofuels. Brazil, the host of the conference, proposed leading this movement, with Vice President Geraldo Alckmin advocating for a tripling of renewable energy and a doubling of energy efficiency by 2030.
However, reportedly, a key theme for climate resilience, was absent from the central discussions at COP30, i.e. distributed generation. In simple terms, this refers to the production of electricity close to the point of consumption, such as solar panels in homes, small wind turbines, or biomass systems in communities. Unlike large centralized power plants, this generation occurs “at the point of use,”… meaning where the energy is consumed, COP30 reinforces that energy transition is a global endeavor. However, Brazil needs to confront its own dilemmas, which prioritizes resilience and social well-being above the interests of investors and governments..

An approach is strategic for aligning elements that are central, peripheral, and intuitive in foresight for any composition during an extreme event scenario. As such, the catastrophic 2024 floods and recent storms in Rio Grande do Sul, which damaged transmission networks, left millions without power, and resulted in a diminished GDP for the state, are an example. With distributed generation, the dependence on long transmission lines decreases, and energy can continue to be supplied locally, preventing the collapse of essential services and the economy.
To these matters, COP 30 attendance, via SIGA Mobilidade's CEO, Arnildo Schildt, would make presentation of its CarbonSat technology and verification of CO2 credits usage for sustainable development efforts to facilitate access to carbon offset resources. The rescheduling of the Trade and Investment Mission to Rio Grande do Sul post-COP 30 briefings has conveyed additional assessments for the Serra Gacha Regional Transportation Infrastructure and ecosystems development. These interactions with the Global Civil Societies and the Development Bank Communities will aid in ensuring sustainability..

The shift in the energy model cannot be merely an international showcase—it must be a profound, inclusive, and strategic transformation capable of protecting society from the climate changes that are already underway.

April 21 and 26, 2025: The World Bank Group an the IMF Spring Meetings, are held annually in Washington, D.C.
In November 2024, the annual United Nations climate summit Conference of the Parties (COP)-29 prioritized negotiations on new collective climate finance targets.
This edition also expanded discussions on
accelerating the energy transition.
The next climate change conference (COP30) will be held in the city of Belém do Pará, Brazil, in November 2025.
November 11 and 22, 2024 COP-29 was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The Conference's general objective was to discuss climate change and find solutions to environmental problems affecting COP-29, which was held between November 11 and 22, 2024, in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The Conference's general objective was to discuss climate change, find solutions to environmental problems affecting the planet, and negotiate agreements. In recent decades, countries have been working hard to find solutions to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
During COP-28, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, participants reinforced the commitments made in the Paris Agreement and sought to advance new concrete measures. During the sessions, governments, private companies and civil society discussed, together with companies from the electricity sector, strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting renewable energy and implementing policies to adapt to climate change.
In 2024, COP-29 prioritized negotiations on new collective climate finance targets. This edition also expanded discussions on accelerating the energy transition. The next climate change conference (COP30) will be held in Brazil, in November 2025, in Belém (PA).
